The cultural center attracts tourists to great museums such as Detroit Institute of Arts, Motown Historical Museum, and Museum of Contemporary Art. Many young professionals migrate to Downtown Detroit for its culture and thriving night life.

Detroit houses the big 3 auto industries: General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler. Downtown Detroit is a major industry for manufacturing. A majority of employment opportunities are in Downtown Detroit.

The major public school system is the Detroit Public School District. The more popular colleges and universities are Wyane State University, and University of Detroit Mercy. Other community colleges are Wayne County Community College and affiliated Law School with University of Michigan.
